For this month’s happy hour come and join bureau chief of The Guardian, Tom Phillips,  as he prepares to leave China.
During his five years in Beijing, Tom has covered it all: from the rise of Xi Jinping to the fall of Bo Xilai, from the internal politics to the Party Congresses, from the crackdowns at home to China’s growing impact abroad.
Over drinks and an informal Q&A session you’ll have the chance to ask Tom to reflect on the best and worst of life in a tough reporting environment as well as the challenges he’s faced in his unflinching commitment to tell one of the toughest stories – China’s record on human rights.
All club members are welcome. So please join us for some great company, happy-hour prices and a chance to give Tom, a former FCCC President, a proper send-off!
(Please do register so we can give The Bookworm an idea of numbers. FCCC members free. Non-members:70RMB)

Bookings are closed for this event.
