He’ll speak on Sino-U.S. commercial relations; Amcham’s just-released White Paper; the fallout of yuan revaluation; and implications for U.S. firms of a regional trading bloc or “Asian Community” which will be discussed at the upcoming East Asian Summit in Kuala Lumpur”.

    About the speaker:
    Dr. Charles M. Martin oversees administration of the American Chamber of Commerce in China, the largest foreign business organization in the PRC. He’s lived in Asia for more than two decades, much of that time in China. His career spans not only the commercial world but the diplomatic field as well. He was Monsanto’s VP in charge of Asia, and chief China rep, from 1996-2003 and before that was deputy head of the commercial section in the American Embassy in Beijing.
    Previously he held State Department posts in the Philippines, Hong Kong and Beijing. He received his PhD. from Harvard University’s Department of Government.
