Aug 26 (Friday) 5:30-6:30pm – Briefing by the President of the UN General Assembly’s 71st session H.E. Peter Thomson
The renowned Fijian diplomat, Peter Thomson, who began his career digging latrines and building sea walls, is in Beijing this week to meet MOFA. His mission for the 71st session, which begins on 13 September, is to see action on and implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. He will also be co-chairing the UN Summit for Refugees and Migrants on 19 September 2016 and hosting a UN Conference on Oceans (5-9 June 2017.)
